In The Dark Knight, Batman interrogates the Joker
The most critically acclaimed of the director’s The Dark Knight trilogy. And it’s difficult to argue with its immediate inclusion within our list of the streaming service’s finest films. Hans Zimmer’s booming score remains one of the best around, and Christian Bale’s second tour as Batman is a blistering, black-as-night take on the Caped Crusader.
Heath Ledger’s Joker is the best movie adaptation of a comic book villain. If not the best manifestation of the character himself. Nolan’s clown prince of the crime proved to be a match for Bale’s hard-nosed Batman. And Ledger’s terrifying portrayal of an amoral. Fearless maniac helped cement The Dark Knight’s place in Hollywood lore.
Phantom Thread stars Daniel Day-Lewis
Phantom Thread to its content collection in the United States just as his latest effort, Licorice Pizza. Was hitting the awards circuit this year. One of the best films of 2017. He embarks on a mission to save an underage prostitute (Jodie Foster) from her pimp to clean up the streets (Harvey Keitel).
Many consider Taxi Driver to be Scorsese’s best achievement. Which can be seen in some of the most recent blockbusters. Taxi Driver’s filthy vision of inner-city America inspired films like Fight Club, Joker, and The Machinist.

From the film Stand by Me
Stand by Me is a must-see for anyone who likes Super 8, It, or Stranger Things. The Body, directed by Rob Reiner and based on Stephen King’s book. Is a classic coming-of-age film about four friends who decide to go down the railroad tracks to pursue a dead body they’ve heard tales about.
The camaraderie between Wil Wheaton, River Phoenix, Corey Feldman, and Jerry O’Connell, the film’s four kid stars, is palpable. The film delivers a simple yet compelling storey about male identity and teenage fragility. Oh, and Kiefer Sutherland plays an unlikable bully (defined by the actor as an “asshole to the marrow of his bones”).
It comes to historical epics. 2004’s Troy is right up there with the best in terms of size. The film, directed by Wolfgang Petersen (Das Boot) and scripted by David Benioff (Game of Thrones). Is a rough retelling of Homer’s Iliad. Yet, it remains an awe-inspiring sight for its substantial action sequences alone.
Brad Pitt plays Achilles. And Orlando Bloom, Brian Cox, Eric Bana, and Peter O’Toole play supporting roles. It warrants a spot on this list for pure popcorn entertainment.
Moneyball is based on Michael Lewis’ 2003 novel of the same name, which follows the incredible 2002 season of the Oakland Athletics baseball team, overseen by general manager Billy Beane (Brad Pitt). Aaron Sorkin wrote the script. It’s more of a conversation dance. The very true narrative of the Oakland Athletics does not require any Hollywood meddling.
Lies in the Body
Body of Lies isn’t quite as good as filmmaker Ridley Scott’s best work. The star power of Leonardo DiCaprio and Russell Crowe makes this espionage thriller a must-see. In it, a CIA operative discovers a lead on a prominent terrorist commander. Zero Dark Thirty, The Hurt Locker, and Green Zone fans will enjoy this film. one more thang Netflix movies have power,
