Getting Tired Of Superheroes? Not All Hero Wear Capes

The past few months, we’ve been fed with different array of superheroes. From Justice League, to X-men, and Avengers, it seems like viewers are appearing too much on our screens. We get it, superheroes are not everyone’s cup of tea, but they’ve become a mainstay in mainstream television. From blockbusters like Avengers: Endgame, to television series like WandaVision, the capesters are dominating multiplexes in diverse ways.
But here is thing. Not all Superhero movies or series are exactly the same. Take the Marvel Cinematic Universe and DC Extended Universe, while the former is a blend of humor and fun, the latter is a bit more serious in its storytelling.

Jessica Jones is the modern day antihero. The story follows a questionable private investigator with a questionable past and motives. Constantine
This is usually not a fans favorite but it does a good job of mixing things with the supernatural. The story follows a chain-smoking paranormal detective John Constantine, who apprehends demons as a way to bribe himself into paradise in the afterlife.
Hellboy
Hellboy is an all-time classic from the beautiful mind of Guillermo del Toro. Although there is a 2014 remake of this classic, we would be focusing on the 2004 original staring Ron Perlman. What do you think would happen when a demon outcast becomes the hero of the story? Hellboy gives a good mix of fantasy, sci-fi and horror.
Chronicle
Chronicle is a mix between the superhero and horror genre. While there are no monsters on show, there are teens with exceptional abilities. The movies an insight into the other side of what will happen when adolescents are given more they can handle.
Lego: The Batman Movie
We can never get tired of seeing Batman on our screen. In fact, in the last three decades, there has been different iterations of the characters, enough to fill Wayne Manor. The Lego Batman movie is a mixture of fun, laughter, and another side of Batman we haven’t seen. It pays homage to classic Batman fans as well as new audiences.
