Pregnancy Week 01 – Lining of the Uterus Begins

Congratulations to all pregnant mums.

During this delicate time, your body goes through some changes to make room for the new member of the family. From physical to hormonal, every part of your body is adjusting up to an optimum level. You don’t know yet; a new life is blooming inside you, but you will know soon.

This first week is really your menstrual period. Since your expected birth date is determined from the principal day of your last period, this week considers part of your 40-week pregnancy, even though your child hasn’t been conceived at this point.

The pre-work:

There is no fetus insight, but soon enough, the sperm match with the designated egg. In the last menstrual cycle before conception, your body is preparing for ovulation.

At this moment, your uterus has started planning for the appearance of a prepared egg. However, you won’t know if that egg has matched with sperm until one month from now.

You’ve recently gotten your last period. The uterus lining is shedding, taking with it the previous month’s unfertilized egg. But this is not the only thing happening. Another cycle is starting, one that is the beginning stage for your pregnancy.

The last menstrual cycle:

FSH (vital follicle hormone) kicks in to begin the development of follicles. The luteinizing hormone (LH) rises around day five and works with FSH to stimulate the follicles. Every follicle contains an egg, and every month just a single follicle turns into one, bound for ovulation.

As the follicles develop, they produce another hormone, estrogen, which completes two things. To start with, it supports the lining of the uterus to start thickening once more. Second, when a sufficiently high estrogen degree is reached, it will trigger a spike in the creation of LH.

That flood of LH makes the egg from the most developed follicle burst through the ovary wall (a cycle knows best as ovulation, which by and large happens around 24 to 36 hours after the LH flood) to meet Mr. Right. This good sperm will transform that energetic egg into a fetus and make your body’s prep work worth all the exertion.

The conception:

After your egg meets the perfect sperm, you won’t be able to know that you have conceived for at least a month. Your body will behave normally, and you won’t be able to detect any changes yet.

The symptoms of pregnancy:

Following are some of the symptoms of pregnancy,

–           Bloating is one of the most common symptoms. It is also something that accompanies the menstrual cycle.

–           Constipation and cramping

–           Tiredness and fatigue

–           Implantation bleeding; spotting of blood. Remember, this isn’t your period. Implantation bleeding begins somewhere in the range of 6 and 12 days after conception when the fertilized egg connects to the covering of your uterus. A few ladies think it’s their ordinary period since it can seem comparable and happen close to the time you’d anticipate your typical cycle.

–           Frequent urination

–           Changes in mood

–           Changes in food preferences

–           Feeling queasy sometimes might lead to vomiting.

–           Tender, swollen breasts

You might have noticed that pregnancy symptoms resemble that of a period. So, it is necessary to take a pregnancy test if symptoms persist, and you feel something different than your usual cycle.

The preps:

There are some steps you should follow for your health and the health of the baby. This is a critical time, and your body needs all the help it can get.

–           Folic Acid Intake:

There’s no uncertainty that your body stays at work for more than 40 hours when you’re expecting, and it can’t make a baby entirely all alone. It requires a lot of supplements for the process.

Prepare your body for infant by taking 400 micrograms of folic acid every day. Research has demonstrated that folic acid, particularly if it’s begun in the months before pregnancy, has significant medical advantages for anticipating ladies and their infants, including lessening the danger of heart problems, gestational diabetes, and preterm work.

–           Visiting your doctor

Visit your gynecologist regularly. It’s important to know what works for you or not. Your gynecologist should know your health and the potential dangers you might face in your pregnancy.

–           Prenatal Vitamins

Prenatal vitamins are essential and necessary. They help you cope with the changes your body is about to go through.

–           Exercise regularly

Make exercise and yoga your best friends. They decrease stress by producing serotonin hence making your body relax better. The energy levels also elevate with regular exercise.

–           Eat healthily

You are what you eat. It is advised for mothers to eat healthy, fresh food rich in nutrients in their pregnancy.

Conclusion:

Gove yourself some time to unwind in these weeks as the fetus grows. You will go through this more quickly than you think.
