The Essential Guide to HGH for Weight Loss

Have you struggled to lose weight? Have you tried all the fad diets? Exercised until you’re blue in the face and cut calories so low you thought you’d starve to death?

Recent research suggests that the problem may be an important missing piece to the weight loss puzzle. If your body doesn’t produce enough human growth hormone (HGH), this could be the cause of your inability to lose weight. Luckily, some doctors are willing to prescribe HGH for weight loss.

What Is HGH?

Human growth hormone is produced by the body in the pituitary gland. This important hormone is the fuel that children’s bodies need to grow and develop at a normal rate.

HGH assists the body to maintain tissue repair, muscle growth, metabolism, and energy. Natural hormone production peaks in the teen years and then declines as we age.

Symptoms of Low HGH

While human growth hormone levels naturally decline as we age, having too little HGH as an adult can cause some chronic health problems including those listed below:

  • Exhaustion
  • Weak muscles and bones
  • Weak heart
  • Reduced cognitive ability
  • Anxiety and depression
  • Increased risk of heart disease and stroke
  • Increased fat around the middle

HGH Therapy

A doctor can test your human growth hormone levels and may prescribe HGH supplements for therapy in the form of HGH cream, injections, or powders. The most common treatment is by injection. Only a doctor can tell you how much HGH to inject for weight loss.

You may be prescribed a powder form of HGH that you’ll reconstitute with Bacteriostatic Water before injecting. (See here for Bacteriostatic Water.) Injections are typically prescribed to be administered once to three times a week and can be administered by a doctor or yourself.

Some chronic medical conditions that may benefit from HGH therapy are chronic kidney disease, Prader-Willi syndrome, Turner’s Syndrome, and Noonan Syndrome.

HGH for Weight Loss

Research has shown that obese adults have low levels of HGH. It is believed that raising those levels can naturally stimulate weight loss.

A 1990 study published in the New England Journal of Medicine showed that participants that received HGH therapy in the form of regular injections saw a 14% reduction in body fat without a change in diet or exercise habits. In addition, participants in the study experienced an 8.8% increase in muscle mass.

Even though weight loss is possible without making changes to diet or adding an exercise routine, the best results occur when both are addressed. Consult with your doctor about incorporating a healthy diet and exercise plan with your HGH therapy.

Increase Your HGH

If you believe that low human growth hormone levels may be sabotaging your weight loss efforts, consult with your doctor right away. Have your levels tested and discuss the risks and benefits associated with HGH for weight loss. A few months of consistent injections along with diet and exercise could see you experiencing up to a 14% decrease in body fat.
