How to Fix a Corrupted Steam Download?

Modify the Download Region

You should pursue the directions given below:

  1. Launch Steam and go to the menu of settings at the top left corner.
  2. After that, click on the ‘Downloads’ button and reach the option of ‘Download Region.’
  3. Now, choose other regions instead of your own.
  4. Lastly, reboot the Steam.

Clear the Download Cache

You should pursue the directions given below:

  1. Launch the Steam client and go to the Settings option.
  2. After that, find the Downloads option in the Settings pane.
  3. You should choose the ‘Clear Download Cache’ option.
  4. Select the OK button to verify the choice.
  5. After that, Steam will ask you for sign-in details.
  6. Once you sign-in again, Steam will launch as expected.

Match the Time and Time Zone

You should pursue the directions given below:

  1. Hold the Windows and S keys to open the Search section.
  2. Then input ‘control panel’ into it and select the OK button to launch the Control Panel.
  3. Go to the categories list and select the “Date and time” option.
  4. You will see the 3 tabs, select the “Internet Time” and then “Change Settings” options.
  5. Now, mark the dialogue section of “Synchronize with an Internet time server.”
  6. Finally, choose the ‘Update now’ button and select the OK button.
  7. After that, reboot Steam.

Uncheck Read-Only

You should pursue the directions given below:

  1. Hold the Windows and R keys to invoke the Run section.
  2. Then insert “C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam” into it and select the OK button.
  3. After that, find the Steam client.
  4. Now, untick the ‘Read-only’ box in case it’s marked.
  5. Finally, select the Apply button to save the changes and reopen the Steam once you have applied the changes.

Stop Unnecessary Processes Performing in the Background

You should pursue these directions given below:

  1. Hold the Windows and R keys to invoke the Run command.
  2. After that, input ‘taskmgr’ into it and select the OK button to open the Task Manager.
  3. Now, shut each unnecessary process like a web browser, Skype, etc.
  4. Finally, reboot Steam.

In case the solutions mentioned above do not work, then you should uninstall Steam and then install it again.
